Zen is a stunning 5-year-old black cat who combines the elegance of a miniature panther with the heart of a devoted companion. While he may be a little reserved when first meeting new people, this is simply his way of making sure you’re worthy of joining his inner circle. Once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll discover an affectionate, loving boy who enjoys being involved in everything his humans do.
Zen loves company and forms strong bonds with his people. Whether you’re relaxing on the sofa, pottering around the house or simply moving from one room to another, he’ll often be close by keeping a watchful eye on proceedings. He enjoys fuss and affection and has perfected the art of turning a quiet evening into quality time with his favourite humans.
As much as Zen loves people, he is very clear about one thing: he wants to be the only feline in the household. He prefers not to share his humans and would be happiest in a home where all the attention, cuddles and admiration are reserved exclusively for him. For this reason, he will need a home without other cats or dogs.
At 5 years old, Zen is at that wonderful age where he still enjoys play and interaction but has left much of the kitten chaos behind. He’s a mature, well-rounded companion who knows exactly what he likes in life: good food, comfortable places to nap, plenty of affection and humans who appreciate how handsome he is.
Black cats are often sadly overlooked, and older cats can sometimes wait longer for their forever homes. Zen is hoping someone will see beyond the age number and recognise what a wonderful companion he is. In return, he’ll offer loyalty, affection and plenty of entertaining moments for years to come.
If you’re looking for a loving, handsome gentleman who will happily become your shadow and your best friend, Zen could be the perfect match.
We’re a foster-based charity, so each cat lives in a home environment before adoption. This helps us see how they cope with things like children, other cats, and dogs.
Because we don’t always know a cat’s full history (especially if they were a stray), our guidance is based on what we’ve observed in foster care. For example:
If a cat has lived happily with children, we’ll note they’re suitable for family homes.
If a cat is very timid and hasn’t been around children, we may suggest an adult-only home.
The same applies for cats and dogs — suitability depends on their behaviour and what we’ve seen first-hand.
As a foster-based rescue, when one cat is adopted their space is quickly filled by another in need. If a cat is adopted into an unsuitable home and has to return, it unsettles them and creates real challenges with our limited foster spaces.
We also believe that, where possible, cats should have safe access to the outdoors. Unless a cat is specifically listed as indoor-only, outdoor access is a requirement for adoption.
Our priority is always to match each cat with the home where they’ll feel safe, settled, and happy.
Adoption applications are currently paused.
Instead of applying for individual cats you can open a general adoption form here General Interest Form.
