Nala is a tiny, 18month old shy calico girl with a gentle soul and a blossoming personality. When she first arrived in foster care, she was very reserved, choosing to observe the world from safe hiding spots. With patience, kindness, and a calm environment, she has begun to come out of her shell, revealing a sweet, thoughtful, and sometimes cheeky character.
She enjoys head and chin scratches, always on her own terms, and she’ll politely let you know when she’s had enough. One of her biggest milestones has been sitting on the sofa and even guarding her fosterer while she works, quietly supervising like a tiny, loyal shadow. She has also started letting out a sweet little meow, a delicate sound she uses when she feels comfortable expressing herself.
Despite her gentle nature, Nala has a spark of fun. She loves exploring, especially during the day, and becomes wonderfully playful with fishing‑rod toys. She has been known to enjoy a bit of Cat TV, especially the fish game, watching with bright curiosity. In the evenings, she settles beautifully with a calming Spotify playlist, showing she appreciates a peaceful routine.
At night, Nala keeps things predictable — a little explore, then back to her safe room, where she settles easily. During the day, she is more adventurous. She loves climbing, especially on her cat tree, and enjoys viewing the world from windows, taking in everything with quiet interest. Her cat tree is her favourite place to relax, perch, and feel confident.
Nala has a charming, child‑like streak. When you call her — even with sweet names like “princess” or “gorgeous girl” — she may look right at you and then completely ignore you. It’s funny, endearing, and very typical of her growing confidence and independence.
When meeting new people, Nala will watch from a distance first, assessing calmly. Once she feels comfortable, she will approach cautiously. Her behaviour around other cats is unknown, as she hasn’t interacted with any during her foster stay.
Nala will thrive in a quiet home with patient adults who understand boundaries and are happy to let her set the pace. She needs people who appreciate a gentle, sensitive cat and who celebrate each small step she takes as she grows in confidence. With time, kindness, and a calm environment, Nala will continue to blossom into a loving, loyal companion.
We’re a foster-based charity, so each cat lives in a home environment before adoption. This helps us see how they cope with things like children, other cats, and dogs.
Because we don’t always know a cat’s full history (especially if they were a stray), our guidance is based on what we’ve observed in foster care. For example:
If a cat has lived happily with children, we’ll note they’re suitable for family homes.
If a cat is very timid and hasn’t been around children, we may suggest an adult-only home.
The same applies for cats and dogs — suitability depends on their behaviour and what we’ve seen first-hand.
As a foster-based rescue, when one cat is adopted their space is quickly filled by another in need. If a cat is adopted into an unsuitable home and has to return, it unsettles them and creates real challenges with our limited foster spaces.
We also believe that, where possible, cats should have safe access to the outdoors. Unless a cat is specifically listed as indoor-only, outdoor access is a requirement for adoption.
Our priority is always to match each cat with the home where they’ll feel safe, settled, and happy.
