Cats for Adoption

Meet the cats currently searching for loving homes through Peterborough Cat Rescue.
Each application is carefully reviewed to ensure the best match.

You can also submit a general adoption, this is particularly good if you prefer Peterborough Cat Rescue to match you to a cat.
Specifically if you would like adding to the indoor cat waitlist or to have our volunteers to help find you the right match.

How Adoption Works

Online Adoptions
  1. See which cat is the best fit for you and them according to their write up.
  2. Complete the adoption form at the bottom of the cat’s profile, giving as much detail as possible. You’ll receive an email confirming we’ve received your application.
  3. Your application will be reviewed. As we often receive multiple applications for the same cat, it may remain under review for a short time while we assess suitability for both the cat and the potential adopter.
  4. If your application is suitable, a member of our homing team will contact you to discuss the match in more detail. If it’s a good fit, we’ll arrange for you to meet the cat with the foster carer.
  5. Meet the foster carer at an agreed time. They may ask a few extra questions to ensure the match is right.
  6. If all goes well, you’ll complete the paperwork, pay the minimum adoption donation (cash only), and take your new family member home.

Please note: Due to the high volume of applications and being a volunteer-run charity, we can only contact applicants who are successful. You are welcome to apply for other cats on our website.

You can also apply for a general adoption. This means you submit an application, we assess it, and then contact you when we find a suitable cat.

  1. Attend a home day event. (Keep an eye on our events page and our Facebook pages for announcements)
  2. Member from the team will sit and chat with you and to fill out an adoption form. If we feel you would be a good fit we will do some final checks before taking you to see our cats.
  3. Whilst viewing our cats members of the team inside the same area will check over paperwork. If you find a cat that you feel would be suitable then you can speak to a member of the team from the room.
  4. Pay the minimum adoption donation (cash) and take your new loved one home.
