Upcoming Homing Day - Sunday 28th June

Join us at South Bretton Community Centre between 12pm and 3pm to meet some of our cats looking for their forever homes.

Please note that cats featured on our website will not necessarily be attending the Homing Day, and additional cats not shown on our website may also be available.

To help us find the right match for both cats and adopters, all prospective adopters will be asked to complete an assessment and suitability check before viewing cats.

Alba

Meet Alba, a beautiful young girl with plenty of personality and a heart full of love.

Alba likes to make an entrance. When you first walk into a room, she may greet you with a little hiss as if she’s completely forgotten who you are. Don’t worry though, this usually lasts all of a few moments before she remembers that humans are actually rather wonderful. Once she’s worked that out, the purring starts and she’s soon looking for fuss and attention.

Underneath her tiny bit of drama is an incredibly gentle and affectionate cat. Alba loves company and enjoys being involved in whatever you’re doing. She’s also wonderfully talkative and will happily chirp, chat and hold long conversations with you throughout the day. If you’ve ever wanted a cat who always has something to say, Alba could be the perfect companion.

She enjoys playing, has a fantastic appetite, and once she’s comfortable, she’s more than happy to claim your lap as her own. In fact, don’t be surprised if she decides your legs belong to her too.

Alba has shown a positive interest in other cats and could happily live with a feline friend following careful introductions. She would suit a home with older children who understand when she needs a little space to gather her thoughts before showering them with affection.

If you’re looking for a cat who combines sweetness, playfulness, conversation and a touch of sass, Alba might just be your perfect match. After all, every good friendship starts with a proper introduction… even if Alba occasionally forgets she’s already met you. 🩷

Partially Vaccinated: The first vaccination has been completed. The second will need to be arranged and covered by the new owner.

We’re a foster-based charity, so each cat lives in a home environment before adoption. This helps us see how they cope with things like children, other cats, and dogs.

Because we don’t always know a cat’s full history (especially if they were a stray), our guidance is based on what we’ve observed in foster care. For example:

  • If a cat has lived happily with children, we’ll note they’re suitable for family homes.

  • If a cat is very timid and hasn’t been around children, we may suggest an adult-only home.

  • The same applies for cats and dogs — suitability depends on their behaviour and what we’ve seen first-hand.

As a foster-based rescue, when one cat is adopted their space is quickly filled by another in need. If a cat is adopted into an unsuitable home and has to return, it unsettles them and creates real challenges with our limited foster spaces.

We also believe that, where possible, cats should have safe access to the outdoors. Unless a cat is specifically listed as indoor-only, outdoor access is a requirement for adoption.

Our priority is always to match each cat with the home where they’ll feel safe, settled, and happy.
